Would you consider this child abandonment?

My sister went to drink beers with the girl in the apartment below hers, and she left my 2 year old nephew in bed sleeping. I flipped the hell out about it when she told me, told her she just abandoned her son. She says that she was just in the apartment below hers, and it's just like if you have a 2 story house and you go downstairs while your kid is upstairs sleeping.
Then she said I'm always sooo overprotective.
If being overprotective means I'm not gonna leave my 2 year home alone so i can go get drunk, then yes, I'm verrrrry overprotective.

Yes that's abandonment. It's not a 2 story house. It's a fucking apt!!!!!

Save the proof call cps. Definitely child endangerment.

When you are downstairs in your own house your child can find you if they need you. I'm assuming her child would have no clue where she is if he woke up. That is so sad.

Did she have a baby monitor?

That makes the difference to me, if she can see and/or see the child.

Did she have a monitor with her. If she did, then no it isn't. Abandonment is what my egg donor did. Leaving me and my sister with a child molester for 3 months, while she was with her boyfriend.

Way to overreact.

I don't think it's abandonment. She was downstairs. She didn't go out to a club. Geeze. And, I'm assuming the kid is totally fine? So, not really seeing the issue.

Relax. While you may not have done it it's not that bad. I agree with her. Take the monitor and check on the kid a few times.
