Are lunchables ok to have for lunch

...IF I make a vegetable and a fruit or another small side to go with it? My kids eat lunchables once or twice a week for meals, they absolutely love them! My mother in law thinks this is absurd for me to let the kids have lunchables as meals, although I've told her they always have a couple sides to go with it. Do you think its ok? Or is MIL right for once? Lmao

Eh it's food.

DS likes when I make homemade lunchables. He's taking one on Friday. :)

I make them for my girls so I can get stuff they'll eat and make sure they're healthy. THey like wheat thins, swiss or string cheese and different lunch meat. Then they get a piece of fruit and either an unhealthy drink or small dessert and bottled water. I also get the drink mixes to go with those because I want them to drink more water. They take their lunch to school because they like very few school lunches.

Lol. No way! Somebody call CPS!!😂😂😂

In all seriousness I've seen 75% of kids bring lunchables to school. Only on Cafemom are you going to hell for buying them!

I send them and sometimes I make my own!

Which ones do you make?

Ds was shocked when I told him we could make the cracker, cheese and turkey one at home. I can't figure out how to do the pizza one though, like what kind of bread should I use, mainly. Though I haven't really looked at the bread options. Lol

It would never have filled my kids up. They used to have them as snacks.

How old are your kids?

You can use a mini bagel, English muffin or tortilla to make pizzas!

Pita bread or English muffins make good mini pizzas

There okay once in awhile. Not the most nutritious but not the absolute worst either.

My kids love them but my kids love a wide range of things. They'll happily eat ravioli & lunchables & just as happily eat all sorts of vegetables. I think giving the lunchable with some veggies is a great idea.
