Thank God I Didn't Listen

To my hubby! I posted last night about our son getting hurt and I wanted to take him to the Dr today but hubby thought there was no point. When he woke up this morning unable to bear at weight at all, I ignored hubby and took him in. Thank God I did! He tore the capsule of tissue that holds his ankle in place. He's in a walking boot and crutches for at least 2-3 weeks. He's got a referral for a specialist as well for early next week. If this doesn't heal right, it could mean a lifetime of issues for him.

Mama instinct is powerful. Don't ever ignore it.

Hope he heals quickly!

Instincts are there for a reason!! Glad you listened to them and got him help. I take the kids in regardless of what dh thinks if I really think they need it.

I know why he's like this. His mom once let him walk around with a broken wrist for a full week before his teacher finally insisted he go to the Dr. She knew it was broken but didn't think it was a big deal. We have argued about almost every single Dr appointment I've ever taken the boys to. It drives me bonkers!

That would drive me nuts... Especially with boys. Men are less likely to seek medical care if they need it so I think it's important to set the foundation early on that its not weak to take care of your body. With our kids, my DH calls it $20 piece of mind.

He could argue all he wants, I'd still take the kids if I thought it necessary.

Oh I do. Last night was just more of an argument than usual so I was frustrated.
