I have had three dates with a seemingly nice man. About a month ago on the night of our second date he called me 5 minutes before we were to meet and he said he was stuck at work. Ok. I get it. We saw each other a couple of days later. Then we had plans and I just did not hear from him. Ok...then tonight we were supposed to meet at 6:30. I texted at 5pm. No response...texted at 6:28 to ask if we are still on. 6:32 he texts back and says:

"Don't know how to say this and am extremely sorry. I can't get away for awhile, still on the phone dealing with personal issues that I wasn't expecting. If you needed to get a sitter, I'd be happy to pay for their time. Not real happy about this"

I told him "thanks for letting me know" and I have heard nothing since. It's time to cut my losses, isn't it? I like him but....

He seems to either not be into you or married/in a relationship.

I'd say yes, cut your losses and move on.

I'd bet my car payment he's married.

Committed, maybe...not married as his next door neighbor is a really good friend of mine.

I love how everyone is responding without asking... what kind of work does he do? My husband, for example, is in a field of work where sometimes it's so involved that he can't just pull his phone out and text me.
