I'm hiring a private tutor and I don't care what the cost is!

My 8th grader is struggling with math. She has failed the last 3 quizzes and I am becoming concerned. I have found a wonderful math tutor at $80 an hours and I've officially hired her. I'm ready to turn the family math curse around! My husband does not like the price but I feel it's more costly to have our daughter fall behind and eventually hate math. When a child is good at math their self confidence goes way up!

For $80, I would probably try to negotiate in 2 emergency homework phone calls per week as well.

Good luck!!

Don't text and drive.

That's expensive. Look for math learning centers near you. We have mathnasium and Kumon out here in az. Or hire a college student.

Hopefully, she will not need the tutor for many hours.

That price tag is ridiculous.

$80/hr is stupid... 8th grade math? Hire a high school student. It would be one thing if this was a tutor for advanced college level classes...  but really... 8th grade?

Good luck to her.

DS is in 3rd grade and I'm looking into a math tutor for him. Seems no matter how I try to help him it just doesn't stick. That's his only bad subject and grade.

$80 an hour is really expensive for a tutor.  Maybe look into Mathnasium?  Where I am it's $300 a month unlimited.
