Every year I try a new recipe for a side dish and am looking for ideas. What's your favorite side dish?

Cranberry sauce is easy and tastes so much better when you make it yourself. I add chopped apricots and orange marmalade to the recipe. I also make a really good savory sweet potato dish, http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/claire-robinson/smokey-sweet-potato-souffle-recipe.amp.html

Mashed sweet potatoes. Butter, heavy cream, cinnamon, and some brown sugar.

It's a tradition that my mother or aunt make homemade egg noodles with turkey gravy stirred in.  They are fabulous.  I wish I had the patience to try and make them.

I like stuffing, mashed potatoes, corn, green beans, and sweet potato casserole all equally. I can't even pick a favorite.

Dessert. I usually eat very little of the main mean and chow down on dessert.

But my favorite non dessert part is this: https://smittenkitchen.com/2014/10/squash-toasts-with-ricotta-and-cider-vinegar/

Roasted and mashed butternut squash with carmelized onions, maple syrup and apple cider vinegar, that you top onto toast with ricotta cheese. DH calls it fall bruschetta.
