You were kicked out 3.5 years in for misconduct, although still managed to get honorable discharge?

ETA:

Ok, new question. Does this mean the same thing as honorable discharge?

Yes...if you served in the armed forces, technically you are a veteran.. If you served in a war, you are a wartime veteran.

Huh. Thanks ladies.

So what's the cutoff? Like, if you made it through basic and then a month later you were kicked out? Would you still be a vet then?

A pattern of issues with general things, like general irresponsibility with uniform, being on time, not following safety rules, etc, and a second dui.

Technically, yes. But any decent service member would not have anything to do with that person.

ETA: That said, what do I know. I have a ton of veteran friends who consider me a veteran. I do not consider myself a veteran, because i broke my back in week 6 of basic, and was medically seperated. I never served, so I am not a veteran. But my veteran friends argue that with me all the time.
