I think a quick lesson on how the voting system works is a great idea! Just a one day thing where you cover the basics.

I would think that if the person is a US citizen, they took it in HS and passed..especially since the age requirement is 18+.. also, keep in mind, people forget things over time. :-)

That would infringe on rights.   Lots of people screaming about rights being taken away and now you are in favor of taking away rights.  What will taking and passing a civics class achieve?

I know a lot of naturalized citizens who didn't go to school here.

Yeah, they tried something like this in the 60's and it was awful. Let's not repeat that moment in history.

Kind of like having to pass a reading test to vote? Perhaps you should read some history books.

I know that I was taught this in 9th grade. I am 32 now, have achools gone that downhill in so little time???
