I noticed the next day she had a scrape on her head like a large cut due to the doctor breaking my water bag with that hook instrument.

what would you ladies do about this?

i was thankful it wasn't her eyes or something:). But I know from the looks of it, it had to have hurt her:(

That is a risk of birth.

Ask the doctor about it and follow his or her instructions.

Breaking the bag of water was medically unnecessary, no?  I'd be pissed.  I'd seriously consider talking to a lawyer.

If she agreed to it she has no case. They would have had to legally tell her he risks before doing it.

Do you know if they used an internal fetal monitor?

Ypu don't do anything about it except watch it to make sure it heals. Birth is messy.

Im quite sure the doctor didnt do it on purpose to harm the baby. When my first 2 were born, forceps were used and they had red marks on their heads. They survived
Just talk to the doctor, nurse or your pediatrician about it. Your baby is fine

The doctor asked if she could break my water but did not mention any risk.
