How do you pack?

My husband is a messy packer and im not sure what he is doing half the time but, i hate packing so whatever. When i pack, i pack everything and i throw things away as i unpack at the new house. We are already going to have a bunch of trash with the boxes and paper so a little more doesnt hurt. My husband always throws things away as he packs, which makes packing take so much longer because he want to go through everything.

I packed the master bedroom and bath. I did throw away a couple of things but i didnt comb through it. He packed the spare bedroom/step daughters room and there is stuff everywhere in there. Im not even sure where some of it came from.

Am i crazy for waiting until i unpack? Howndo you do it? We have 3 days to finish the house and im procrastinating. I hate packing!!!!

We use plastic tubs that are labeled with the appropriate items like Kitchen, Bedroom, Towels, etc. We're military so we're used to moving every few years. I procrastinate on unpacking things that we don't use daily.

I hate packing, but won't let anyone else do it lol. I'm an organized packer, and will go through everything and get rid of a lot.

We are military too but we alway opt for them to move us because i would rather have at stress gone. But, we are buying a house so we are moving ourselves this time.

I throw stuff away as I pack. I can't stand moving superfluous items to a new house just to throw them away.

I throw away as much as I can before I pack. Why would I want to waste the time packing it and unpacking it, just to throw it in the garbage.

Of course I do wind up throwing more away while unpacking, but I try to get rid of as much garbage as possible before.

I got rid of stuff as I packed up my old house. I was moving out of state and it became a question of "do I really want to move this item 600 miles??"

I had garage sales, gave away to friends, and donated to Goodwill.

It makes it easier to put stuff away at the final destination, IMO.

When I moved (for the last time, hopefully) I threw stuff in my car and took it over all week prior to the big move. I unpacked all clothes, brought the dresser drawers still full, set up all closets, set up the whole kitchen, cleaned every inch of the new house, did pretty much everything before the big stuff arrived on the weekend. Food and all. It was very stressful and I was up until like 2 in the morning when I had to work at 9. I'm so glad that's over, lol. But moving all the big stuff didn't take long at all!  I throw stuff away rather than taking it.

We rented a dumpster and threw out a ton of stuff before we packed. We also gave away a bunch of toys too.

We have them move for us as well except for maybe a week's worth of daily clothes/toiletries, electronics, valuables, etc.
