At what age to pierce child's ears?

I know this has been debated before but I didn't have a daughter at the time so i never bothered to read the posts.
I have a 7 month old and I'm debating between waiting until after her first birthday or if I should wait until she's around five or six and asks.
Your thoughts?

I waited until my girls asked to have it done. They were about 6 or 7. My MIL wanted to do it when they were babies and I said no.

I prefer to do it as infants.  So much easier and less issues.

Whever you want. I had my ears pierced as a baby without my consent and I was not traumatized by it. These women are nuts/

My dd asked for earrings at age 2. So I took her to have them pierced then.
