Had a baby girl 2 weeks ago. For some reason I have to explain to damn near everyone the correct way to say it.
"DANILYN" pronounced Danny-Lynn
I know it's different but not the worst thing in the world. 😡😡😡😡

Wasn't that Anna Nicole Smith's daughter's name?

I think it's a pretty name.

I went to school with a girl with that name.  It's not hard to pronounce.

Cute name, but I can see how the spelling would throw people off. Looks like Dan-ill-lyn.

They either say Dailyn or Danny Linn or any variation of that

I'm surprised you have to explain it. I got it right away.

My dd name is Annabella and people read it as Annabell, not sure why they drop the A. It's not worth getting mad over. Relax and enjoy her.

I don't know why, it took me a sec to read it right and I'm normally good at that .
But, it's not awful. I think it's cute.

I'm shocked too, maybe it's just my family and people we know. Even her pedi called her dailyn

Why not double the "n" then? Dannilyn. You named her. You don't get to be butt-hurt because you didn't follow English spelling rules.

You can't get mad at people for not pronouncing it correctly when you chose to spell it uniquely.
