The kids and I went out of town last weekend, while we were gonna Texas winter hit, and apparently my SO was cold. The heater was turned up to 75 degrees. For the 2 days we were gone 40Kwh were used each day when our normal usage is 15Kwh.

It was not even below freezing where we live.

Nothing. I mean my winter electric bill is always going to be higher but then again i live in the Midwest. Are you upset with him?

I wouldn't care. I would expect him to do whatever made him comfortable.

Nothing? What am I supposed to do about it? He was cold. Why would I want him to freeze when we have a heater for a reason?

Umm he got cold. What would you want him to do? I had to turn our heat on also for 2 days. An I'm in Texas where the cold snap hit.

I'd ground him and take away his electronics.

If he works and contributes or possibly pays all of the bills himself and is a functioning member of my family I would do/say nothing. If the higher bill means that you're all going to starve or something I'd be pissed and worried.

When I was married, my then husband was able to adjust the thermostat just as I was. What do you mean what would I do? What is there to do?
