A mom texted me this morning that she was off and would not bring her kids unless "something came up". Here it is going on 4:30. She just called and said she was on her way with the kids. Uh...no. She needed me to keep them "for a few hours" so she could do some cleaning. I told her I would not keep them past 5:30 and she got pissed!

If she wants that kind of service, she needs to hire a nanny.

Yes I normally close at 5:30 on Fridays. Her regular hours are 8-4.

Quoting Anonymous 4: Do you normally close at 530? What are her normal hours?

I don't blame you. She can't just expect you to work past usual closing time, just because she waited until the last minute to send the kids over.

Do you have a written contract with the parents ?
If you don't want to do a contract, at least post your business hours.
