Finding a new job frustration

I had worked at my last job for 17 years. I left due to the plant closing. The lady interviewing me at a temp service told me employers like to see more than one place of employment. I think they would be happier with a long term position, not a bunch of jobs. I guess I'm going ti be punished for being dedicated to one job.

I would DEFINITELY pick someone with 17 yrs experience at one place over someone who had hopped around10 different places in 17 years

I don't think so. Longevity at a job looks really good.

that's so stupid! i have the same problem now--8 years at a place i love but now have to find new work. dedication should be what they're after.

That's what I figured. I am going to try another company. She really irritated me.

I suspect the lady at temp office might be smoking crack

Don't let one conversation with one person at one temp agency get you down, or convince you of anything. Longevity generally looks good.

That's odd cause I thought long term is what they're looking for.
