Leggings aren't pants!

Dd has several pair of leggings that she constantly insists on wearing with a short t-shirt. It drives me nuts because I have to tell her every time she needs to change she can't wear leggings with a t-shirt.

It may be just me but just no.

They are pants but I agree they need a longer shirt.

To me it looks lazy to just throw them on with a shorter shirt. Dd has one shirt that she wears a lot. It's a cute shirt but it does not look good with a pair of leggings.

I only wear a tshirt with mine when I am home. But yeah, I think longer shirts go with leggings.

Leggings are fine with a short fitted T-shirt can look fine but this is dependent on body type. If it just doesn't look good or you are not comfortable allowing her to wear then like that, keep reinforcing this.

I agree. They need a long top or even a short skirt.

Eh. I resisted the lure of the legging for a long time. I wear them now. Life is too short to care.

My 12 yr old daughter tells me that everyone wears leggings to school everyday. She says that no one wears blue jeans - they're for old people! I always tell her that her shirt has to be a little long...

I think it depends on the body type and type of leggings. My DD is 11 and wears them constantly. I do buy her the thicker ones that you cannot see everything through. She wears them with shorter shirts but she is tiny and it looks OK to me. That is basically how all the girls at school look.
