So tax dollars are initially paying for it. So does that mean taxes will be raised while the wall is being built, or are these tax dollars that have already been paid to the government?

So Mexico is reimbursing us? Even though they said they won't? How is Trump making this happen?

Why is a wall so important when most illegals come here on visas and overstay? Or hide in vehicles? Tunnels? Boats? Planes? Will this wall not be a waste of money?

Trying to educate myself here.

The wall is idiotic.

Mexico is not going to pay for it. Why should they? If the US decides to build something, the US is going to pay for it. To think Mexico is going to reimburse us is just plain stupid.

Yes wall is a waste of money. Mexico will pay the money back in tariffs (tax in things imported to the U.S.). Mexico is refusing to pay the tariffs.

So we will basically build a big wall that likely won't be effective, and ruin our relationship with Mexico?

They build a 20 ft wall they will find a 21 ft ladder. The whole thing is stupid and a waste of money and resources.

It's gonna be a good wall because he builds good walls. It's gonna be the greatest. It's gonna be great. *sideways hand wave*

He means Mexico will pay for it in a round about way through tariffs as another poster said, and money lost by keeping American businesses from going to Mexico. I am from an area with a huge amount of illegal immigrants. I am all for the wall. A lot of these immigrants are good people, but so many of them are not. If you have never lived in an area affected by it, you just can't understand the problem. There is way to much to even mention. The wall is going up for a reason, it is desperately needed.
