Little Miss Outgrew Her Carseat...

She is fine forward-facing by weight (She's 40 pounds and it goes up to 65 pounds) BUT she's too tall.  The straps are below her shoulders forward-facing on the highest setting.

She's 4 and just over 40 pounds.  We can get a new harness seat, one wiht higher straps, or we can move to a high-back booster.

I know the rule of thumb is to rearface with a harness until college, but what do you all think?

My kids forward faced at 1. Sometimes shortly before. They were all in high back boosters by two and backless by 3. You might want to wait for other opinions. ;)

I still rear face my 15yo, I just throw his legs around his head.

I think it is okay to have her forward facing at this point.

Everyone in my car is required to wear a 5 point harness no matter what their age is

My son is 5 but only 30 lbs and his car seat is getting old and I was just looking at cars seats online and decided on the Britax Frontier because it converts from harness to booster and it will fit best in our car from what I can tell anyway.. Also babies r us is having their trade in your old car seat and get 25% off of a new.. I have small kids so we harness until they are 7. ;)

I read her post as looking for advice on whether to continue harnessing or to move to booster.. I think she was just trying to be funny with the whole rear facing thing because of how crazy some moms get about that ;)
