How long was labor for your first baby?

Posted by Anonymous   + Show Post

For my first baby, I was in labor for 43 hours . . . I gave birth at home in a rented birthing tub. Despite it being so long, the labor itself wasn't that bad.

I think it went so slowly because he was posterior . . .

How long was your labor for your first baby?

(My second labor barely lasted six hours, also a homebirth.)

1st - 11.5 hours
2nd - 6.5 hours

I was induced at 41 weeks with both so I think they went quicker because of it.

I don't remember exactly, its been 40 years.  I think it was about 6 hours.  2nd labor was also short.  3rd was a (semi) emergency C-section.  They were all late so maybe they were just REALLY ready to come out ;)

I was induced. It was 3 hours exactly start to finish. My second (not induced was 90 minutes). I had precipitous labors.
