So we live in govt housing. We pay the full amount, no credits or discounts, almost 700 for a 2/1 apt. But last year our house burned down, and this was the only place that had availability in our school district. (Super small town) both other apt complexes were full. So anyway...we had this big couch someone gave us and we had it in here, but it was just too big. So we took it out and put a twin size mattress and box spring in the living room, got some new throw pillows and big throw to cover it with. It looks ok, not ideal, but it serves it's purpose.

Anyway. We had an inspection and the landlord said our "couch" was trashy and we had to get a real couch.

I didn't even know she could dictate what kind of furniture we used for what. I don't really want to replace it bc it's comfy and im not wanting to spend money on something pointless like that while we're trying to save up for another house.

Yep. It's really none of her business. I'm not sure what government housing has to do with this though.

1 mom liked this

They have no jurisdiction over your furniture.

She's has no say on how you decorate your home as long as you're not doing permanent renovations to it, painting, etc. I would just ignore her.

Unless it's blocking a walkway, they can't say anything

I wouldn't do anything unless they gave me something in writing.
