So, I had money put back for Easter and I used it to get to the hospital to be with DH and now DD, DS or SD won't get anything for Easter. This would be the first time that they won't get anything but damn... I know they would understand the situation of why they won't get anything. I feel bad but I have to do what I have to do. I am planning to take them to the Easter egg hunt Saturday so they can at least have something. SD won't go but that is on her. I should of bought their Easter before anything but I didn't know anything like this would happen. Should of planned for the worst then it wouldn't of happened :(

It isn't heart breaking to not get your kids something.

Spend time with them.

Color eggs. That is cheap.

Big deal. Easter isn't Christmas. Are you serious

Meh, it's easter. Give them some bubbles and street chalk. $1 store to the rescue.

I promise you that in 10-15 years your children will NOT care that you didn't get them anything that one Easter.

But what they will remember is you spending that day making memories with them. Color Easter eggs, play some fun games, get on Pinterest and look up some DIY activities...

They will care more that you were able to be with their father when he needed you.

Don't beat yourself up. Kids will understand... especially if you've raised them to not be entitled snowflakes.

This is why you people need to stop putting so much stock into buying shit and having your kids expect it. My kids get nothing and could t care less.

Easter isn't about money anyway. See what happens when we secularize holidays?

Dye some Easter eggs, have an egg hunt, play some games. Spend time with them. That's, better than material items anyway.
