Is it ok to let someone else drive your car if the insurance isn't under your name?

My dad's car is insured under mind and Dh's policy. I just found out through fb that he let his gf drive it the other day. The kicker is that she doesn't have a license and little to no driving experience.
Would you say something?

take his car off of your policy. you will be responsible financially if she hurts or kills someone

Dh actually informed me that it was only supposed to be temporary anyways I guess. It was something the two of them agreed to. That was a couple years ago.

That's what I was wondering. Luckily it wasn't on the street though. It was on the beach, which could also be dangerous.

Sounds like it's time for him to have his own. He is going to jeopardize your insurance and rates if he continues to allow his GF to drive his car without license.

Who is the registered owner of the vehicle? If it's him, you should be ok. If it's * you or your dh, you should get your name off of it like yesterday.

Who ever carries the policy is responsible in the event of an accident. I'm going through this now.

I think it depends. Don't some policies cover the driver while others cover the car?

I would say something to him because the insurance is under your dh and you.
