What should I do?

Every year, a friend and I take our kids to the city 4 a weekend. I book the hotel and I clear the dates four months in advance. Every year, something comes up as the date approaches and we need to leave earlier or something.

This year she calls and says she forgot it was memorial day weekend and can we leave early Sunday am. No. I'm paying 600$ dollars to go and I don't want to wake up early and leave early because your church is honoring fallen soldiers.

No one in our circle is a vet.

I don't see why all of a sudden it matters.

Should I just suck it up?

2 moms liked this
She obviously isn't making the trip a priority. Or maybe 4 days is just too much for her. Stop taking her or shorten the trips.

I would tell her you should take separate cars if she wants to leave early. She gave you notice. I would do separate cars there then ride together for the weekend and then she can leave whenever she wants.

I'd take a different friend from now on.

Not to everyone. We don't celebrate veterans or memorial day, it's just another day.
