Speaking of customer service....refusal to sell-is she wrong?

Not sure if it matters but this was not in the U.S.

So I was bored and walked into a cell phone store. Had some time to kill and was just roaming around, exploring. Plus my cell phone was acting up and I was looking at a specific phone to buy once I came back stateside. There were 2 salespeople and I just started conversing with them just because. I don't know how we got on this subject but the sales woman said that she would not sell a parent an iPhone if they were buying it for a small child, like aged 8/9 or younger. She didn't care if the guy next to her told the managers but she wouldn't do it. The sales man was like "you can't do that, though" and she just said "I don't care. I won't do it" and then she went on to say why she wouldn't do it. I didn't want to be that American so I just listened and conversed back but I thought it was weird that she worked in customer service with that attitude. She's entitled to her opinion but do you agree or disagree??

i mean, thats really not her place...if a parent is dumb enough to buy a kid that young that phone, thats their problem.her job is to sell phone, not decide who should have one.

I think she needs to shut up and sell phones or find a different job. She doesn't get to decide who gets a phone and who doesn't.
