Putting toddler up for adoption

I'm thinking of putting my 2 year old son up for adoption. Unfortunately, finances are super tight even though DH and I work 40+ a week. We don't qualify for any help, God knows I've tried. We don't have a house of our own, our son shares our bedroom in our small apartment. When we had him, we'd been planning to have our own place by now. But life hasn't ended up that way and I'm concerned about not being able to take care of him. Our resources are limited and I've exhausted all I've found. I think if I put him up for adoption, he'll have a much better life than we can provide. DH not on board with the idea.

Wtf???

Because you can't get free government help and you're too lazy to figure out a way to make more money you just want to give your kid up??

Jeez. That's crazy.

If you're not a loving mom then by all means don't be in his life

Not something I would do. Not saying it doesn't happen but foster care does not typically give you a good life. Maybe if you leave him and your dh, then dh can get help with just his income. You can pay child support.

You had him when you were poor. You are still poor. That's not a real reason to put him up for adoption. Is there anything else to add to the story??

You have to be a troll. You would seriously give up your child because you think you don't make enough money? That's absolutely ridiculous. Adoption is not the solution to this problem.

Having been through the foster system: DON'T DO IT.

I think the idea is a noble one. It would be a gift to someone and your son probably won't remember not being adopted.

What kind of adoption were you thinking?
