Yes, it should be. But if it's a loveless marriage and everything has been done to try to create a spark again, then one shouldn't spend the rest of their life miserable.

It's supposed to be but people don't take marriage seriously anymore. My friend got married the other day and said when they get divorced she hopes it isn't ugly. Um.

But yeah, my marriage, without any abuse, is forever.

Most marriage vows say "until death do us part", so no, not forever.  Just until you die.
