I love that my son is a nerd

From talking to other moms, the "popular kid" drama seems so exhausting. My son is 14 and a lot of the kids in his grade are already dating. I'm happy we're not there yet. Not even close actually - he still plays with action figures.

My now 19 year old nerd got his girlfriend pregnant as a sophomore.
Don't just assume that you're safe lol. We did and now we have a grandson.

My 11 year old is a bit of a nerd. I kind of worry. He's very athletic, but doesn't feel comfortable with those kids so he's kind of in the middle. His best friends are nerds but they don't play sports. He can play in his room all day with action figures.

Oh, I definitely understand there are no guarantees. He's shown absolutely no interest in girls, though - and vice versa.

I hope things are well for your family now!

I'm glad my 16 year old son made the decision not to date anybody.

Yes, being a nerd is in no way an inoculation against teen sexual activity and poor planning and preparation.

Good for him! You're only a kid once. I think a lot of Parents these days push their kids to be cool and trendy and that's not a good thing. Like they are living vicariuosly through their kids.

Yup, teenagers will be teenagers. Especially when you think you can trust them to make good decisions...
I have 5 boys, and while they were all very different, they all eventually had drama.

My ds10 is a proud nerd. He's also really good looking though so I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
