Scammers are calling

I got a call from someone saying they were from my bank and my car note didn't go through. They asked me to verify my social and account number. I told the guy I would call back. He said I needed to take care of this right then.

I knew my car payment had been made and cleared. I had just seen it when I checked my account. I hung up and called the bank. Of course there was no issue. I gave them the number of who had called.

The other guy called me five more times. Pretty sure I will get a call again. At which time I will hand the phone to the two year old.

Tell them you'll get in contact with the BBB if they call again

This has been happening to one of my supervisors at work.  She actually fell for it the first time.

I feel so bad for her, she did fall for it and subsequently suffered identity theft.

I keep good track of my stuff. I know what has cleared and when. A few months ago they kept calling about a payday loan. I told them I had never had a payday loan. He told me I must have amnesia and forgotten about it.

I have given scammers fake SSNs. That's always fun. Told one it was 8675309.

That sucks. I've been getting the ones for the IRS for the past 3 weeks.
