Is It Normal For A 19 Month Old To React Like This?

So for the last few days my DD who is 19 months has been throwing objects at whomever she gets mad at for whatever makes her mad. Here's a scenario:

My DH took away a nurf bullet because she was chewing on it. My DD screamed at him then picked up a toy gun (my DS's) and pelted it at him, when it feel she picks it back up then throws it at him again then one more time after that. .
My issue is, is that common behavior for a 19 month old to think I need to pick up that object and throw it at dad because he made me mad? All we do is redirect her when she does this.

Throwing things is actually a developmental milestone for 18 months.

It is a normal part of testing limmits but you need to nip it in the butt fast.

Ok but to do it in anger is a normal milestone too?

Meh, it's not really anger per se, it's just frustration.

My daughter is 17 months and had been doing something similar where she'd hit if we say no to having a popsicle or something like that. We made sure she knows that's not acceptable behavior. She only did it a few times and has stopped. I would say it's normal. It's her way of expressing frustration.

Oh yes. My son did that every time he got mad for a good while. I used to take away his toys if he threw them at me in anger. Seems to have worked, albeit slowly.

It's weird we don't throw things at eachother in this house. Time outs and toys taken away, early bed time will happen if I catch my son who is 5 throwing anything at anyone. Heck he can't even throw his belongings just becaise he wants too.
