DD work s at a summer day camp as a counselor.  Camp ends on the 25th but school does not start until september.  One of the moms from the camp has asked dd to babysit at her home her two boys for the last week of august.  She will babysit the same hours she works at the camp  8am to 6pm.  So whats a good rate?

look on sittercity and see what the rate is in your area. How much was camp for 2 kids for the week ? Go less but not way less.

That's ten hours a day, and she will not have relief like she would at a regular job. So that is ten hours nonstop. For two boys.

What is the going rate for babysitters your daughter's age in your town? That would be a reasonable rate. Not cheaper, no discounting.

I would suggest she charge the same amount she was getting paid at camp.

Whatever the camp paid her for the week is fair imo.

The camp charges $200 a kid per week  but if you pay in full ahead of time for the amount of weeks you need you get a discount of $190  a kid.   Dd's pay is $150 for 8-4 and then an extra $20 an hour for the after care from 4-6.  the boys are 7 and 5  she's with the 7 year old every day.

She's only babysat for money a few times before  and she always just told the mom whatever she wanted so it would be like $10 an hour.  Most of her babysitting has been for free. she's also never really babysat for so many hours.  but after working at the camp she feels ready.

What is the cost of the camp for the 2 boys per week? I'd say go with that.
