I don't get why sometimes I'm able to have a conversation with him.... and other times, it ends with him calling me names and me hanging up on him (bc I refuse to listen to the tantrum).

It'll be about the same things.... but his reaction is different, depending on his moods. How do I fix it on my side?

The biggest issue is he'll want me to buy something and my answer has always been no.

You can't fix someone else's problems. Who is "him"?

Sounds like he's nuts and not worth the effort.
