Has anyone ever taken this? (Little TMI)

Has anyone ever taken Amitrityline aka Elavil? My DR put me on this 2 weeks ago and I am experiencing a couple very annoying side effects that I have not found on the list of side effects that I have looked up. I am suddenly having pain in my nipples and during sex having trouble finishing. This is very frustrating. I am taking this for stress and insomnia, but it isn't helping either and adding to the stress. I am waiting on a call back from the DRs office, but I just want to know if this is common for others.

I have taken amitriptyline for sleep for a long time and I've never had that side effect. How much are you taking?

That's a low dose. Sexual problems is a known cause of SSRIs. And if you're experiencing them with such a low dose, you probably should try and find something else for sleep.

Have you tried melatonin? How about Tryptophan? And a boron supplement (12-15mg) will help your pineal gland produce melatonin more effectively. It won't happen over night though.
If the cause of your insomnia is an over active mind, you might want to give lithium orotate a try. It's an OTC supplement.
Quoting Anonymous 1:10mg before bed.

I have tried melatonin and Diphenhydramine. Neither work and melatonin has bad side effect in my digestive area. I want to change this med because it isn't working.
