Let say you have a mentally ill teenage daughter. Bipolar and boarderline personality disorder

She tells you she was sexually assault by her cousin on her father side. He is a teenager too. He is a yr younger than her.
He didn't rape her, she says he tried to pull her pants off and was fondling her.

She has a history of lying. But not about stuff like that . I do believe her but I don't know at the same time.because of her history

Yes child protective services has been contacted because a mandated reporter was told before I was.

I don't know what to do.

Let them investigate.  Meanwhile, get your daughter to a therapist in addition to her shrink.

I think you need to sit back and let the cards fall where they are may.
Your daughter is ill. Be there to support her.
Good luck.

I am waiting to hear from the cps worker. Dd doesn't want to ruin her cousin life but I told her if he will do that to her then he will do it to someone else and she has smaller cousins that are around him a lot more than she is.. hell his girlfriend is 3 yrs younger than he is and one of the other cousins is a yr younger than his girlfriend. She is also worried they won't believe her because she is mentally ill and he is a straight A football player.
