So,my sister and I are very close. She helped my mom raise me. (My mom was very sick when I was little and were in the hospital for long periods of time).

My sister has a DD who is very spoiled, she is 6yo. My niece is afraid to sleep in our house, because she wants the light to be turned on all night long. My DH hates when the lights are on for no reason. We do have night lights, but my niece wants central light to be turned on in the room where she sleeps. Because of that, my sister sleeps over our house when she needs me to babysit her DD the next day.

My DH turned the lights off, my sister screams at him that we hate her DD and turns the light on.....over and over and over, every time they are sleeping over our house.

At the end me and my DH have an argument because of it, EVERY TIME.

Tell your DH to stop being an asshole to your guests.

Weird that he's so obsessed with turning that light off.

Your sister sounds unhinged though. And she's raising a snowflake

It wouldnt bother me to leave the light on to make my guests (especially a small scared child) comfortable but your sister sounds dramatic.

Your DH gets that angry that a little kid wants the light on because she's scared of the dark?

He needs to calm down. It's not a big deal.

Being that I am someone that cannot sleep with lights on. Can't they buy a nightlight or you guys buy one?!? Something that will make this child happy when she is in your home without upsetting your dh
