I was wanting comfort food and tried these salisbury steak "meat"balls with mashed potatoes and gravy.

They are not only ugly, but the meatballs were bland as hell. This is the first plant based meal that I made the family that no one was thrilled about. It was edible. We just like flavor.

The mashed potatoes turned out really good for not having butter or dairy milk though. *sad face* It was disappointing.

Looks pretty good. Is that mushrooms on the side?

I find a lot of prepared foods to be bland. And definitely not attractive.

We often make mashed potatoes with coconut milk, the canned type. Makes them really rich.

Yes. The mushrooms and mashed potatoes were the best part. 😄

So what were the "meat"balls made out of?

Ha! I'd eat it anyway ☺️ It's not the presentation I'm worried about, it's the taste! Lol

Chickpeas, bread crumbs, onion, soy sauce, vegan worcestshire sauce, tomato paste, whole grain mustard, red wine vinegar, and liquid smoke.

I really expected them to have more flavor.

You can't get Salisbury flavor without using meat. Sorry.
