The eclipse and religion/beliefs

Does the upcoming solar eclipse have any bearing on your religion or beliefs? If so, what religion or set of beliefs do you identify with?

I ask because I am a teacher and we have a family in our building who has requested their children not watch the eclipse. I initially thought it was due to safety concerns, but when I suggested they watch it live on TV another teacher said it was due to religious beliefs so they couldnt take part in it at all. So, now I'm curious...

In mine it's a bit of a washing over.

A baptism, if you will... but for the Earth, not one people or religion.

Could you explain a bit more? I love learning about other beliefs.

I'm Catholic and there's nothing saying I can't watch it.

I have heard people say they think it's going to be the end of the world or gods judgement. I don't agree but everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Well, maybe baptism is a wrong word because it denotes too much Christianity.

More of a cleansing.

It just allows for more positive energy to be felt, but still, it would be up to humans to act in a way that they would feel it. The rest of nature will feel refreshed, a little energized on it's own.

Im a Christian and I feel it is a warning for America. 33 days later will be the Rev. 12 sign in the heavens.

I believe the Church age (age of grace) is ending and the tribulation is beginning.

That's odd since it's happened many times before.

I am Christian as well. Why do you believe this? How is Monday different than other total solar eclipses that have happened in the past?
