I've worked in a plastic factory for 3 year's now. For those that have done factory work know that sexual harassment happens quite a bit. Never figured it would happen to me,I kept to myself and did my job,and went home. My supervisor was a lot older than I and he knows my husband,we all use to work together.

Things started getting weird when his assistant was out on maternity leave and he requested me to take her place for a few weeks. I was flattered that I was picked but that was short lived. He'd sit super close to me while I was doing the time sheets for the temps along with my other computer duties. He'd sit there with this weird fixed smile on his face.

Then the text messages started shortly after. Before anyone goes to hell about this he has everyone's number,we work third shift so if weren't coming in we had to contact him because everyone in the office was gone and there bad for not checking messages. He'd ask me to come hang out with him ,which I never did. He offered to take me to a casino two hours away ,all expenses paid, I declined. I told him that he was making me uncomfortable with his advances but he never stopped.

The final straw was when he told me he'd give me the position I applied for if I'd sleep with him. I said hell no and stormed out. I went home and wrote a 3 page letter to human resources about it. They in turned opened an investigation against him and sent him home. There were at least 10 other girls that came forward during the investigation. He was terminated two weeks later.

I thought that would've been the end of hearing from him, nope! He texted me and said he knows I turned him in and that I should come see him at his house. I said no,why the hell would I do that? His response was, because we're friend's. Haha ugh no,we're not! I told him if he ever contacted me again I'd send my husband to his house. He said okay and I haven't heard a peep since.

That is creepy. 10 other girls, none brave enough until you were. Insanity. You did a very good thing for yourself and your company. Hopefully his replacement will be a better leader.

I was shocked that their were so many. I was scared to turn him in at first because I was worried they wouldn't believe me. But my husband was right,if he did it to me ,he'd do it to someone else and that wasn't okay .

I work in a warehouse.

The ratio of men to women is 20 to 1.

Everyday all day is sexual harrassment. I just brush it off because they never actually do anything. Just talk.

On Thursday a coworker grabbed me and shoved his 1 hand up my shorts and 1 hand down my shirt in the parking lot before work.

I kicked the shit out of him and got back in my car.

I called my supervisor because just like your job we all have our supervisors number - I asked to be escorted into the building.

Men are assholes. Warehouse and Factory jobs are dangerous for women.

Just because sexual harassment happens often, does not make it ok.

At least now you know that it isn't "no big deal" and employees should not be expected to "just ignore it".

I know these things happened years ago but thete are so many legal recourses and trainings and education around work place sexual harassment. . That it still goes on to this degree is horrifying. Can you work anyplace safer?
