If Your Child Told You...

That they were gay/lesbian how do you think you would react?
Would you react differently if they told you they were transgender?
Because I'm curious about different opinions across the country, where are you and how old are you?
I live in Southern California and people here seem to be pretty open minded.

If one of them said they were gay I would probably be disappointed, but more than likely supportive.
If one of them said they were transgender I would probably be livid. I don't think I would be supportive of that at all.

I would be supportive. It wouldn't matter to me. She'd be the same person she always was, I'd just know more about her. As long as she's happy, healthy and not doing anything illegal, I don't care.

My dd did tell me she was gay, although I pretty much knew it already. I wasn't disappointed and I have been supportive.

Now transgender I would be disappointed because that's just a hard row to hoe and I have kind of a hard time with it.

Oh and in my 50s and in the south.

I would be scared and worried for their future, because of how other people would treat them, but I would 100% support and love them, regardless.

If they were transgender and you were an attentive patent, you would likely know. What would make someone of your generation angry about this? I am nearly thirty years older than you and would not be angry.
