Would you pay for daycare an extra year

to let one child go to Kindergarten alone when both are eligible?

We had a family dinner Sunday and my girls were talking excitedly about starting K next week. My mother apparently "wouldn't send both, because each should have her own year"

It seems silly to me though to pay another year.

What would YOU do?

What your mom said made zero sense.

No I wouldn't. If they meet the standard requirements to go they'd go.

Wow, your mil is living in another form of reality.

Hell no I would not pay for another year of daycare.

What the what?  That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.  Is your mom always so strange?  A school year isn't a special gift to experience on your own.  You start when it's chronologically time to start.  Wtf?

Why would you not send both? Twins right?

That's how I feel.
They are both going but I just really didn't even see any logic in her argument.

I would send each when they are ready. I'm assuming these aren't twins but close in age. My SIL has two boys a year apart. She did delay her second because her first repeated K.

10 months apart. Ella missed the cutoff for last school year but both she and Abby make this years cut off.

Absolutely not. If both are eligible, both should go. Imagine how one child will feel knowing she was supposed to start kindergarten and was kept back for a stupid reason. Obviously, they don't care about having seperate years.
