Have you or would you ever put your child in a beauty pageant?

I have a friend that just KNOWS her daughter is going to be the next Miss America.

She puts her daughter in beauty pageants weekly and spends a near fortune on dresses, hair, manicures and more.  The DD is only 9.  My friend's husband confessed to my husband that the mom continues to put them into debt racking up credit card bills on all that's needed for these pageants.  Have you ever put your child in a pageant? I had no idea it was so expensive.

No. It's not my thing. I'm too lazy for all it entails.

My daughter competes and loves it. Miss america tweeted a pic of her just the other day funny enough. Haha

I would not go into debt for it but she loves it and we can afford it so she may as well.

My girls did one at the mall but they didn't do the state level pageant because it cost $500 each just to enter.

My oldest child is beautiful. Like drop dead. She won't be the next Miss America because she doesn't want to be. But her college is paid for through scholarships won at pageants
