Has anyone used hard drugs while being pregnant and having a healthy baby?

A friend of mine is pregnant, however she shoots heroine 4-5 times a day. She tells me that she will quit before the baby is born so that her baby with not go through withdrawals. I am trying to help her quit now. Any positive feedback/stories would be very helpful. Please no bashing. Thank you

Yeah, but probably like 7 years ago.

I wouldn't touch that stuff nowadays, people are dying left and right.

Drop her off at the ER she needs medical advice.

I have never done hard drugs, but there is a clinic in my town that helps addicted pregnant women and give them subutex to avoid withdrawals. She could probably find a dr to help.

The baby won't be "fine" because she quits before it's born. She needs to quit now and get medical help.

Even if her theory of quitting before hand so the baby won't have withdrawals was actually true, she would still have withdrawals while pregnant, which puts her and the baby in danger.

I do not know this from personal experience but from what I have read when it comes to heroine she would need to detox in a medical setting. Un-monitored detox could cause the baby to die. Look up pregnancy friendly rehabs in your area. I used to work with people with brain injuries. We had so many people there who were the product of a drug addicted mother.

If she does it during the pregnancy quitting before delivery is just useless. Its disgusting.
