The movie IT.  My two and 6 of their friends (all 12 and 13 years old), met up with about 15 of their other friends at the movie.  It was rated R.  Parents had to buy the tickets.  Only 1 parent stayed with her preteen daughter.  All the other parents left.

IT is not a big deal.  some of you made it sound like its not appropriate for kids.. IT is fine for preteens.

will yours be seeing IT?

No, but mine is six. Honestly some PG 13 movies are worse than R

Nope... we don't allow R rated movies yet. Mine also don't like scary movies.

My 15 year old is going with his 16 year old friend today. The friend has a 18 year old brother who will get them in the theater. My SO and I are going to see it tonight.

No.  My daughter will be 12 next week; she is not seeing IT.  I don't know if my son is going to see it but he's 19 so I don't tell him what he can or can't see.

I thought some of the language about dicks was really excessive.

I also don't know if the younger teens really pick up on what's going on with the abuse.

It isn't the clown parts that would keep me from allowing it.

My 15 yo daughter saw it with me.

My 10 year old wants to see it. I told her no. But I'm gonna surprise her with it

in my opinion it's not appropriate.  Ratings are for a reason.  R is not appropriate for a preteen.  That's what's wrong with half the world.  Exposing kids to things too soon.  Not saying keep them sheltered, but really, they're not adults and parents who treat them as such, suck the kid right out of the child.

again - my opinion.
