START GOING TO THE DOLLAR STORE NOW AND PICK UP ONE ITEM A WEEK PER CHILD

THAT WAY YOU CAN'T SAY THERE'S NOTHING TO GIVE

My kids don't need dollar store junk.

Kids have too much junk. I personally always tried to get one nice and useful thing each year, even if that's all I could get, instead.

Thankfully our money struggles are behind us now.

One 20 dollar thing that would actually be useful is better than a bag full of dollar store junk.

But poor people often can't figure out how to save that dollar per week rather than spend it.

That is an excellent idea for those who celebrate, and in many cases, the kidlets won't know the difference at all.

Not all dollar store items are junk.  Besides, young kids can be clumsy and they will break toys and other items irregardless of what the cost may have been.
