My throat has just started hurting in the last hour or two.

What should I do to stop this now before it becomes a real sore throat?

I find the cause of mine is usually post nasal Drainage. I take mucinex, drink lots of water, use a neti pot, and gargle with salt water

good luck I ended up with a full blown sore throat, cold, flu, and now Im all stuffy and been sick since wednesday. Drinking tea with a lot of honey helps the sore throat feel better.

A sore throat is usually a symptom of something else. To you know why you have a sore throat?

Try zinc or dry out the nasal drip with Benadryl maybe or something? Try honey or salt too.

If you feel like you're getting sick..then take 2 or 3 1000iu Vitamin D.

Honey for the sore throat.

If you're sinuses feel runny..try a claritin, sometimes the cause of a sore thoat or cough can be a post nasal drip.
