Why do so many Americans refuse to make a meal without meat? This obsession is gross and unhealthy.

I do it all the time... But unless it's a snack a full meal feels empty without it. I avoid grains though, just a bunch of filler. We eat lots of fruit and veg, but even salads we put egg on to fill I out a little. I don't get all the rage for rice and pasta in many cultures.

It's become ingrained in our culture. It's like asking why so many Italians make meals with pasta.

Its not gross just because its a different culture than yours. So what? Americans like meat? And that affects you how?

I only crave meat before my period. Other than that I can do without it. A lot of it is kind of gross.

Why do you care what others choose to eat?

They don't, really. I mean, at a bigger dinner there's often a pasta course but it's not all the time.
