Why is the way i educate my children "stupid"

Walking into school today, ds6 started to sing a song from Hamilton. I joined in and we were kinda dancing a little.

We reached the doors and had to wait because it wasnt time yet so he started another song.

A mom started talking to me and asked what he was singing. I told her and explained when she looked confused.

She then told me that its stupid to force it on him and how hes just a child.

Sorry lady but he BEGS to listen to it and thats all his youtube history is.

Why wouldnt i encourage this?! Plus we live near the Schuyler sisters house. We've gone to the battle fields, history museums.

Heck. His teacher even sings it!

I dont understand people

Some people are just ignorant. Ignore them and do what you want.

These encounters never seem to happen to me in real life. I can't imagine a stranger from my child's school speaking to me that way.

Admittedly I don't know what that is but you do you mama. My 9 year old can sing every word to Sink the Bismarck and the Battle of New Orleans. Lol. I'm sure plenty of people would find that weird.

It's weird to me the concept that someone would feel comfortable insulting a total stranger like that.

I mean, I know it happens, but it's just... bizarre.

Shes not a stranger. Shes very opinionated and has a "like what i like or i will run my mouth" policy.

I cant stand her cause shes so fake so i ignore her.

This was just like "wait.... what?"
