Anyone here know someone that still sometimes spoon fed thier older child? I kid you not my old neighbor did that on occasion with her 8 year old daughter! She was even known to put a bib on her at times so she wouldn't get her shirt dirty!!! This girl was 8 years old!!!

No that's ridiculous unless there is a medical issue.

I thought the same thing. Just as a mom I would feel so embarrassed spoon feeding an 8 year old.

That's understandable. She was perfectly capable of doing it herself, I think mom was more worried about time and messes.

No and I would also question the 8 yo who is ok with it.

Yes.  I don't know how old he was when she stopped actually putting food up to his mouth feeding him, but he was 10 last I knew she did it.   She was still far too involved in his meals...counting bites, making him whatever he wanted, going out and getting him food when there was plenty at home...straight through age 16.

Don't text while driving.

Sounds embarrassing for the kid too.

I've never known anyone to do anything like that with a kid that old.
