I moved into my bf home 4 years ago with his 2 children. I have zero say in anything. It's *supposed* to be my home (well not financially-speaking obviously) and more importantly, supposed to FEEL like home but it sooooooo doesn't.

The worst part is that i have no say in the running of the home whatsoever (so no modifications have been made on their part whatsoever, only I had to adapt to them and their ways) and i need to ask permission for things such as moving stuff in the kitchen cupboard around or worse, removing an item altogether (if it's old n falling apart or if it's something i have not seen him use in the past 4 years). I can't do ANYTHING without consulting him first and I do not have a say at all in the way things are run.

I just re-read what i wrote and i think i just had an epiphany.
I'm effin' nuts to still be here. Jesus.

****i obviously don't have the funds to purchase a new home with him, otherwise, i would have done so from the get-go.

I can see you feeling strange about "taking over" in the first few weeks but 4 years later, it should be just as much your home as anyone else's...

I would tell him that it doesn't feel like it's your home too, and that maybe you should move out and into a place you can call home.

Why are you living like this ?
Yes, it is his house. Change can be hard. But, what you describe is nuts.
It sounds like you are there to cook clean and be his warm spot.
I can see not getting rid of personal items belonging to someone else. Not removing things that are the kids or changing their rooms.
But, yes it is supposed to be your home also.
You need to move out.
This rodent even resemble a step family on the worst day.
