Child support

If anyone can suggest a group to post this please let me know...

My childs father gets him 2 nights a week. He lives with his parents, makes $14.75 an hour, 40 hours a week, plus just bought a new car. I work 32 hours a week, make $12 an hour and have my own house, have to pay rent and other bills. I have an appt for child support coming up soon and am nervous. His dad seems to think he won't have to pay me anything. I live in NC. Is it likely I will get anything? I am at my wits end and am really struggling. I pay for clothes, field trips, after school care, etc. His dad won't help me at all. Today our son was sick and he told me he wouldn't help me get him medicine. He left us in December and went and got another girl pregnant then ditched her.

No matter what he makes most states have a minimum.  He will be on the hook for SOMETHING, but given what you both make it isn't going to make you comfortable.

Yes, you will get child support since you are the primary custodian. Most states have a specific formula they use to determine the amount based on (in this case) your husband's income.

Use this. It's for SC, but we're pretty close!

2 nights a week your still the custodial parent. that would entitle you to 7-11% of his take home pay.

qq you will be awarded aboutv20 percent of his gross income. Doesn't mean he will pay. Get a back up plan together
