Scenario:

Mom and dad have a 10 year old boy.

Mom is a teachers aid at a private school

Dad is training to be a teacher and is student teaching this semester. This week he is taking over the class while the teacher is out at a conference several hours away. Teaching the class this week is part of his student teaching requirements.

Child and parents all work/go to school at the same school.

Child breaks arm

Who goes with child to the hospital?

Mom?
Dad?
Both?

Probably about the same distance, they are all on the same small campus.

Quoting squeekers: What parent was closer to said child when his arm broke?

I would never not go with my kid so I say mom lol plus mom is only an aid whereas dh is the actual teacher. Personally, I would need to be there ahs and Dh would want to but would be ok with updates so I would go no matter what. Unless it's life threatening I don't see any need for both parents to go.

My husband and I share the burden and try to rotate having to take off. Both of our jobs are important and neither want to lose it. So, usually I get one round and he gets the next. If someone gets hurt/sick I’ll call out or leave work early today....but the next time is on him. There have been a few emergency situations where that didn’t work out.

My Dh and I would both go, but we had the luxury of flexible work situations. Not everyone does, so I guess the parent with the most flexibility goes.

Mom. She’s an aid, he’s responsible for teaching the class. Her leaving would be less disruptive, IMO.
